SIDELINE CAPTAIN LLC
Terms of Service
Effective: August 6, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Sideline Captain. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy.
1. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding agreement to use Sideline Captain. You must provide accurate information, protect your credentials, and promptly notify us of suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity through your account unless caused by our failure to use reasonable security measures.
2. Team authority and information
Coaches and team organizers represent that they have authority from their team, league, association, park district, families, or other applicable organization to create the team space, upload roster and contact information, invite members, and assign roles. Parents and guardians represent that they are authorized to provide information about a player and to direct its disclosure to authorized coaches, team staff, and approved team members as described in the Privacy Policy.
Sideline Captain is a technology provider and is not the team, league, school, park district, or sports association. We do not verify every user’s family relationship, organizational authority, roster consent, or coaching status. Team administrators are responsible for reviewing access and promptly removing people who should no longer have access.
3. Health, allergy, and safety information
Player allergy and other health-related team information submitted to Sideline Captain may be shared with authorized coaching staff, and combined allergy information may be shown to approved team members for snack planning. You consent to that use when you submit the information. Keep information current and provide only what is reasonably necessary for team safety and coordination.
Sideline Captain is not a medical service, emergency system, or substitute for direct communication with coaches, medical professionals, or emergency services. Always notify team staff directly about urgent or significant medical, allergy, accommodation, or safety needs.
4. Your content and license
You keep the ownership rights you have in content you submit, including photos, videos, documents, messages, and rulebooks. You represent that you own the content or have all rights and permissions needed to upload it, share it with the intended team, and grant the license below—including appropriate permission for any person or child depicted or identified.
You grant Sideline Captain LLC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, display, transmit, and otherwise use your content as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, moderate, support, and improve the service and make it available to your intended team. This license includes permission for our service providers to process the content for those purposes. We will not use identifiable youth photos or videos in public advertising without separate permission. The license ends when the content is deleted, subject to limited backup, security, legal, and technical retention.
5. Acceptable use
You may not use Sideline Captain to:
- Upload content you do not have permission to share or that infringes copyright, privacy, publicity, or other rights.
- Harass, threaten, exploit, impersonate, discriminate against, or endanger another person.
- Post sexual, abusive, violent, unlawful, deceptive, or otherwise inappropriate content, especially content involving minors.
- Expose passwords, Social Security numbers, financial data, medical records, or unnecessary sensitive information.
- Bypass access controls, probe security, introduce malicious code, scrape the service, spam users, or interfere with service operation.
- Use team contact information for unrelated solicitation, advertising, or commercial purposes.
6. Moderation and copyright concerns
Users may report inappropriate photos or other concerns, and uploaders or authorized staff may remove content using available controls. We may review, restrict, preserve, or remove content and suspend accounts when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect users, comply with law, or address security and safety concerns. We are not obligated to monitor all content.
To report alleged copyright infringement, identify the protected work, the content at issue, its location in Sideline Captain, your contact information, and why you believe the use is unauthorized, then email support@sidelinecaptain.com. Knowingly submitting a false report may have legal consequences.
7. Service changes and availability
Sideline Captain may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features. We work to keep the service available and secure, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or permanent availability. Maps, weather, address suggestions, Rulebook Assistant answers, and other third-party or automated features may be incomplete or inaccurate and should be independently confirmed when important.
8. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Sideline Captain at any time and may request account deletion. Team administrators may change roles or remove team access. We may suspend or terminate access for material or repeated violations, unlawful conduct, security threats, nonpayment if paid services are introduced, or when necessary to protect Sideline Captain or others. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, license for retained copies, disclaimers, limitations, and dispute provisions—will survive.
9. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, Sideline Captain is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Sideline Captain LLC and its owners, personnel, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, goodwill, or opportunities arising from the service. Our aggregate liability arising from the service will not exceed the greater of amounts you paid Sideline Captain in the 12 months before the claim or $100. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law.
11. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Sideline Captain LLC and its owners and personnel from third-party claims arising from content you submit, your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the service, or your violation of another person’s rights. This does not apply to the extent a claim results from Sideline Captain’s own unlawful conduct.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by Illinois law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Unless applicable law requires otherwise, disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts serving Cook County, Illinois, and each party consents to those courts’ jurisdiction. Before filing a claim, please contact us and allow 30 days for an informal resolution. No arbitration or class-action waiver is imposed by these Terms.
13. Changes and general terms
We may update these Terms as the service evolves. We will post the updated Terms with a new effective date and provide additional notice for material changes. If a provision is unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer your account or these Terms without our permission; we may transfer these Terms in connection with a reorganization, financing, merger, acquisition, or sale of the service.
